Ellie Stathopoulou

Hi! I am a researcher in the 3D Optical Metrology Unit (3DOM) of Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), working mainly on depth estimation and semantic segmentation topics. I recently defended my Ph.D. in photogrammetry from National Technical Univeristy of Athens (NTUA).

Right before joining 3DOM in October 2018, I was a senior fellow in the Visual Geometry and Modelling Lab (VGM) of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), working on SLAM applications with depth sensors (2017-2018). Prior to this, I was a Marie Curie Fellow under the EU FP7 project ITN-DCH: Initial Training Network for Digital Cultural Heritage hosted by the Laboratory of Photogrammetry (NTUA). During that project, I collaborated and visited (within secondments) Institute for Photogrammetry (ifp) - University of Stuttgart, Modèles et simulations pour l’Architecture et le Patrimoine (MAP) - Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and WMG - University of Warwick (UW), among others.

I have a MEng. in Surveying from NTUA and a MSc. in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science from Technische Universität Berlin (TU).
